Build Site on Tight Budget

1. Choose a reasonably short name for your site. Let it reflect what the site is going to be about.

2. You need to have a basic knowledge of html. You can learn at W3Schools.com

3. Buy a cheap domain name that targets your audience, e.g. .com.ng instead of .com. The latter is more expensive than the former.

4. Get cheap hosting, preferably from the same people you bought the domain from, e.g. Web4Africa.com

5. You need to know how to use cpanel. You can learn at HostingFacts.

6. You need to know how to create a blog. Again, you can learn at W3Schools.com

7. You can edit the sample html code in No. 6 to use for your site. You can call it test.html and test run it live on your site.

8. Replace the default homepage on cPanel with yours. You can learn how at HostAdvice.

9. Create other pages, i.e. About, Contact, FAQ and Privacy Policy.

10. Create a blog post.

11. Ensure your site is mobile friendly. You can find out at mobiReady.

12. Create a Facebook page for your site and use Like4Like.org

And that's one way to build a site on a tight budget.

How do you?
